Monty Python's Spamalot

{So it turns out this is slightly delayed but Spamalot was one of the more entertaining nights at the theatre I've experienced, so lets talk a little bit about why}

First up:Its freakin' Python. There is nothing about Monty Python that can go wrong. Comedy that lasts the ages, and the similarities - and differences - to the Holy Grail make this Musical well worth watching.

A testament to the performance of King Arthur is that it didnt click with me until a long time after exactly who was playing him. Sure I'd read the names, but due to the outstanding nature of the performance Arthur was simply Arthur, gathering his band of knights and thoroughly leading the charge. So big props to the outstanding Marcus Brigstocke, making an argument of style and substance over personality and celebrity (vote red!).

In synch with this was the highly entertaining Hayley Tamaddon as the Lady of the Lake. Showing off an impressive set of lungs with some fantastic songs as well as a natural comedic instinct, Hayley delivered a solid showing wrapped up in the Lady's elaborate garb.

The whole cast was so well integrated it was as if they'd been performing this show for years.
The jokes were fabulous, the songs were laugh out loud funny, the audience lapped it up in droves and Todd Carty got hit by a flying cow. What more could we ask for?

If you get a chance to go see this, please don't hesitate, the only mistake would be passing up the chance.
